FRA Achieves Top Rank in Chambers Litigation Support 2023

July 3, 2023

3 July 2023 - Forensic Risk Alliance (FRA), a forensic accounting, eDiscovery and compliance consultancy firm specializing in international corruption, AML, sanctions, fraud investigations and compliance remediation for global corporations and law firms, has once again achieved the Band 1 ranking in the Chambers Litigation Support 2023 Rankings for UK-wide forensic accounting.

Chambers' research quoted clients saying, “I consider them to be at the top of their game” and “I like using them as their skillset, knowledge and expertise are extremely broad”. Another commented, “I am yet to find a challenge where they do not have absolutely the right person for the task” and “(their) kind of scope and capability is incredibly valuable and their ability to retain these experts is such a benefit”.

In addition, FRA has entered for the first time in Band 2 for US-wide Forensic Accounting also under Chambers Litigation Support 2023 Rankings. Chambers market commentary comments, "FRA is (also) described as a “very safe pair of hands” and praised for its international resources” and “the enthusiastic tone found throughout client feedback is notable; one source regards FRA as their “go-to firm,” while another says the group’s responsiveness stands out”.

For the fourth year running, FRA is also listed in both the UK and US rankings for eDiscovery, also under Chambers Litigation Support 2022.

As well as this, FRA co-founding partner Toby Duthie, has been individually ranked once again among UK-wide forensic accountants. One commentator described him as “a superstar”. “He is thoughtful, strong at identifying the biggest issues facing a company and insightful in finding paths forward” another noted.

Building on its previous years' rankings, the Band 1 and Band 2 achievement reflects FRA's strong international growth trajectory over the past year and continued client success record. Over the last 12 months, FRA’s track record in the market has continued to grow. FRA co-founding Partner Toby Duthie supported Switzerland-based ABB in reaching a favourable bribery resolution with authorities in the US, Switzerland and South Africa. Toby, along with Directors Ash Klass and Arnaud Collombet, also supported Technip FMC through negotiations with French prosecutors to conclude the recent €208 million corporate settlement.

FRA co-founding partner Frances McLeod is currently serving as the DOJ-appointed independent compliance monitor in two separate monitorships: Balfour Beatty Communities LLC, and FCA US LLC, an automobile manufacturer that pleaded guilty to conspiring to violate the Labor Management Relations Act. Frances has also extensively supported numerous US DOJ and SEC FCPA and fraud-related monitorships, including the recently certified IAV GmbH for which Frances and her team won Team of the Year at the Women in Governance, Risk and Compliance Awards 2023.

FRA's growth over the last 12 months has also been marked by its first Asia Pacific office opening in Seoul, South Korea, demonstrating a continued investment in the firm's international expansion plans and diversification strategy. The firm also hired ex-FBI Special Agent, Roy Pollitt, as Partner in New York City to continue to build the firm’s financial services credentials. Jack Simbach, former EY Executive, was hired as Partner in Washington, DC to head up the firm’s Data Analytics where his remit has focused on developing innovative solutions for client’s complex data challenges. Recent senior hires have also included a new Director for Cryptocurrency Investigations and Compliance based in Washington, DC and a Global Director of eDiscovery based in Dubai.

FRA co-founding partner Toby Duthie said: "We are delighted to have been recognized in Chambers' top rank for the work we do in delivering a top-quality client service. We are motivated by creating opportunities for clients and our internal teams alike, through continued expansion and diversification. Year on year we aim to deepen our experience and reputation in the market by investing in our people, our offering, and our geographical footprint”.
