Biography
Brendan Kirkland is Chief Financial Officer at FRA. He has 17 years experience in accounting and finance within listed, privately owned and private equity firms. Brendan is experienced in IFRS, UK and US GAAP reporting, consolidations, due diligence, budgeting and forecasting, Sarbanes-Oxley and controls, cash management and treasury.
Brendan is responsible for the FRA Group statutory reporting, tax compliance, financial modelling and adhoc reporting and projects. He assists the wider Finance team with the monthly close and reporting to the Board and other stakeholders. He manages the FRA’s London based Finance team and oversees the day to day operations in the London office, including facilities, treasury, payroll and disbursements with oversight over the other European offices.
Prior to joining FRA, he spent eight years as the Group Financial Controller at PE backed Business Monitor International/BMI Research, a provider of macroeconomic, industry and financial market analysis. His responsibilities included daily management of the finance department, ownership of internal and external reporting, statutory and tax compliance, financial systems, budgeting and treasury. He was a key member of the team involved in the successful sale of BMI to the Fitch Group. Prior to joining BMI he worked at NASDAQ listed MIVA Media as the European Financial Controller before its sale to Adknowledge Inc.
Brendan completed his training as an accountant with PwC and holds a Bachelor of Commerce Degree from the University of KwaZulu-Natal in South Africa and a Post Graduate Diploma in Accountancy. He is a member of the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants.
